Cookin’ With Love
Jason, Jeremy, and Brett Brill as young boys moved to the Bay Area in 1987. Our parents had restaurants in New Orleans for 15 years, and they participated in the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival from 1975-1987 as a food vendor.
Our parents started New Orleans Catering in California 36 years ago. We were corporate and special events caterers including music venues, fairs and festivals. Our authentic New Orleans Cuisine was very popular in the Bay Area, we enjoyed a good reputation for quality food and fast friendly service. We cooked from scratch daily at events using our recipes with fresh ingredients and our own blend of seasonings. The crowds appreciated seeing our big pots of Seafood Gumbo, Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee’ and our Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, Cajun Crab Fries and Po’Boys.

Catering. Southern Comfort Kitchen was formed by Jason, Jeremy and Brett Brill in 2013. Our business specialized in bringing gourmet New Orleans Style cookin’ to the Bay Area with our two Food Trucks.

Pots to Your Plate!
The Castro Valley Restaurant opening in 2018 is the first of the family run restaurants. It is heart warming to hear customers often say they appreciate being greeted by an owner when they come in. Now, one can occasionally see the 3rd generation getting into the act! The children of Jason and Jeremy Brill, Braelyn, Nola, Emersyn and Taytum help expedite orders and clean tables at the Castro Valley Restaurant.
The Pleasant Hill Restaurant located in downtown was opened in 2021 during a pandemic! It is a beautiful location with a patio and a cool New Orleans vibe.
Alameda, our third location is now open on Webster Street. We have a drive thru and a patio!

Every morning one of us does all the pot cooking from scratch. Then our crew continue to saute’ and freshly batter and fry seafood and chicken golden all day.We make our blackened seasoning, and our own seasoning blends for all the New Orleans dishes. All of our sauces such as Remoulade, Old Bay Garlic Aioli, Tartar Sauce are all house-made.
